   Testing Information for Nov 2025 and Year 2026
  
   FCC Amateur (ham) Radio exams will be offered at the Carson-Tahoe Medical Center’s Bristlecone meeting rooms.  
   Tests for all three levels will be given by the Carson City VE (Volunteer Examiner) team.   Advance signup at hamstudy.org 
   is preferred, walk-ins will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.     Upon arrival, the Medical Center’s ambassadors 
   at the welcome kiosk will direct you to the testing room.  A picture ID is required of all candidates.  The coordinator for this session is 
   Frank D’Auria, W1AD and he can be reached at w1adfrank@charter.net The testing fee is $14.00.

FCC Licensing Steps
A. If this is your first time getting a HAM license
      Go to the FCC Registration page here and follow instructions to get a CORES (Commission Registration System) 
      account and an FRN (FCC Registration Number) Number
      Now continue to Step B.
B. Getting your HAM License registered for the first time or renewed
    Log into the FCC License Manager system here.
    Select Apply for a New License OR Renew Licenses.  See image at right for menu selections.
    The system walks you through the steps; you will also need to pay the $35.00 fee.
